We started with a long list of installers marketing to Brisbane, then removed any we could not verify as actually installing in the area from their own published information. The rest were compared on eight factors: reputation and years in business, equipment quality and range, installation model, pricing signals, warranty terms, customer service patterns, review volume and consistency across platforms, and after-sales indicators.
Sources were company websites, accreditation listings (New Energy Tech Consumer Code approved sellers and Solar Accreditation Australia installer accreditation, which replaced Clean Energy Council accreditation in 2024), public review platforms, and published pricing. We did not request quotes, contact the companies, or accept payment for placement. Where a fact was not verifiable, we wrote “not published” rather than guessing. There is no invented scoring formula; the awards reflect where each company’s verifiable strengths line up with a specific buyer’s needs.
Choosing a Solar Company in Brisbane
Check accreditation first. Your installer should hold Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation, and the retailer should be a New Energy Tech approved seller. Both are searchable online and required for the federal STC rebate, explained in our STC rebate guide.
Ask who is actually on your roof. In-house employees are a strong quality signal. A company that will not answer the subcontractor question plainly has answered it.
Get the workmanship warranty in writing. Manufacturer warranties cover the hardware; the workmanship warranty covers the holes in your roof. Ten years is the Brisbane benchmark, and several otherwise excellent installers here do not publish theirs.
Plan for Energex. Brisbane sits on the Energex network, and export limits apply, particularly for single-phase homes wanting larger inverters. A good installer handles the connection application and designs around your phase and export situation.
Design for Queensland weather. Heat and summer storms are hard on hardware. Ask about panel temperature performance, hail rating, mounting standards and whether the quote covers a switchboard upgrade if yours is older.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does solar cost in Brisbane in 2026? Published market ranges put a typical 6.6kW system at roughly $4,500 to $8,000 installed after the federal STC rebate, and a 10kW system at roughly $7,500 to $13,000. Treat anything far below these ranges with suspicion.
How many quotes should I get? Three: one premium installer, one value-focused local, and one wildcard. Fewer and you have no baseline; many more and the differences blur.

Should I buy a battery now or later? With the Cheaper Home Batteries Program discounting upfront cost since July 2025, the economics favour buying storage with the system if your evening usage is meaningful. Otherwise a hybrid inverter keeps the door open cheaply.
How much deposit is normal? Ten per cent or less. Be wary of anyone wanting most of the money before installation day.
