We compared eight factors: reputation and years operating, equipment quality and brand range, installation model (in-house versus subcontracted, where discoverable), pricing signals, warranty terms, customer service, review volume and ratings, and after-sales themes.
Sources were company websites, accreditation records (installer accreditation moved from the Clean Energy Council to Solar Accreditation Australia in 2024; retailers are approved under the New Energy Tech Consumer Code), Google reviews, SolarQuotes, ProductReview and public forums. We did not request quotes, contact companies, or accept payment for placement. Where a fact could not be verified we say “not published” rather than guessing. There is no invented scoring system; awards reflect the use case each company demonstrably serves best.
Choosing a Solar Company on the Gold Coast
Check accreditation properly. Installers should hold Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation, and retailers should be approved sellers under the New Energy Tech Consumer Code. Verify licence numbers with the QLD electrical licence register, not a logo on a website.
Ask about salt-air corrosion. Much of the Coast sits within a kilometre of salt water. Ask whether quoted panels carry salt-mist certification (IEC 61701) and whether the panel warranty has distance-to-coast exclusions, and insist on anodised racking and stainless fasteners for beachside homes at Palm Beach, Mermaid or the Spit.
