We Reviewed the Best Solar Companies in Wagga Wagga (2026)

Wagga Wagga has hot, dry summers, cold winter nights and a lot of large rural roofs, which makes solar and batteries an easy sell here. The harder question is who to trust with the job. This guide is for Wagga and Riverina households and farms comparing local installers. We reviewed six companies with a base in the city: SolarWise Wagga, Hamblin Solar, Des Mullins Electrical & Solar, Brent Hawe Solar & Electrical, Solahart Wagga Wagga and TSP Energy (formerly Solar Professionals).

This is independent desk research based on company websites, public records, accreditation information, Google and SolarQuotes review patterns and published pricing. We did not visit, phone or request quotes from any company, and no company paid to be included. You will learn who suits which job, each company’s real weaknesses, how NSW incentives currently work, and what to check in a quote.

Quick winners

  • Best Overall: SolarWise Wagga for the longest dedicated solar track record in town (since 2009) and a deep battery and off-grid range.
  • Best for Batteries: Hamblin Solar for a current battery line-up and the largest Google review base among Wagga solar specialists.
  • Best for Electrical and Network Work: Des Mullins Electrical & Solar for being an Essential Energy Level 2 service provider as well as a solar installer.

Best Overall: SolarWise Wagga

SolarWise Wagga is a locally owned small business established in 2009 by managing director Alex Manley, who has installed solar since 2006, according to its SolarQuotes profile. It is the longest-running dedicated solar company we found in Wagga, and its equipment range covers grid-connect, batteries and off-grid systems.

Pros

  • 5.0 stars from roughly 70 Google reviews and 4.6 from 44 SolarQuotes reviews as of October 2026
  • REC describes it as a recommended installer and it offers the REC ProTrust warranty, which adds 25 years of labour cover on registered REC systems (see our REC Alpha Pure-RX review)
  • Broad battery range including Tesla Powerwall 3, BYD, Sungrow, Enphase, Redback and PowerPlus
  • Off-grid capability with Selectronic and Victron inverters, useful on rural blocks

Cons

  • Some reviewers note it was not the cheapest quote they received, and one 3-star review raised value concerns
  • Its own workmanship warranty period (separate from REC ProTrust) is not stated in the sources we could access, so get it in writing

Best for Electrical and Network Work: Des Mullins Electrical & Solar

Des Mullins Electrical & Solar is a Wagga electrical contractor trading since 2007 and installing solar since 2010. It says it is accredited with Solar Accreditation Australia for grid systems and design, and an Essential Energy Level 2 service provider, which means it can do service connection and metering work that a standard electrician cannot.

  • 5.0 stars from roughly 100 Google reviews as of October 2026
  • Level 2 accreditation helps when solar or a battery triggers a switchboard, service or meter upgrade
  • Broad electrical business: commercial, EV chargers and data cabling
  • Offers Sigenergy systems and Sigenergy finance plans

Cons

  • Its website does not list panel or inverter brands or a workmanship warranty period
  • Solar is one service among many, from poker machine wiring to misting systems, so it is less specialised than SolarWise or Hamblin

Best Local Electrician-Led Installer: Brent Hawe Solar & Electrical

Brent Hawe Solar & Electrical is a locally owned Glenfield Park business led by electrician Brent Hawe. It installs residential and commercial solar, batteries, EV chargers and CCTV, and is one of the few Wagga installers to publish its workmanship warranty.

Best for Solar Plus Hot Water: Solahart Wagga Wagga

Solahart Wagga Wagga is the local dealer for the Australian Solahart brand, which has made solar hot water since 1953. The dealership is operated by Orange Electrical Works Pty Ltd and covers a big territory, from Hillston and West Wyalong to the ACT border and Henty.

Pros

  • One contractor for panels, batteries, solar hot water and heat pumps
  • Battery range includes Powerwall 3, Enphase IQ, GoodWe Lynx Home and SolarEdge
  • Silhouette panels carry up to a 30-year warranty, per the dealer
  • Holds both electrical and plumbing licences, needed for hot water work

Cons

  • Panels are largely limited to Solahart’s own Silhouette and SunCell ranges, so you cannot compare open-market hardware within one quote
  • “$0 upfront” offers run through Zip finance, where fees and conditions apply, and can cost more over time than paying cash

Get a quote via Solahart Wagga Wagga, or browse all Wagga Wagga installers in our directory.

Key facts. 4A Norton Street, Wagga Wagga. Operated by Orange Electrical Works Pty Ltd. NSW electrical licence 320760C and plumbing licence 176876C.

Why we selected them. Hot water is a large share of many household bills, and no other Wagga option combines it with solar under one national brand.

Products and brands. Silhouette and SunCell panels, GoodWe inverters, Powerwall 3, Enphase, GoodWe and SolarEdge batteries, Solahart hot water, PowerStore heat pumps and GoodWe EV chargers.

Installation quality and reputation. A 4.8 Google average from about 45 reviews. A wide territory means asking which crew will attend.

Pricing and value. Package prices are not published. Dealer pricing can carry a premium over lean locals on straight solar.

Warranty and after-sales. Workmanship is “guaranteed”, but the period is not stated in years.

What customers say. Ratings are positive overall. The structural limitation is choice of hardware.

Best for / look elsewhere. Households replacing hot water and adding solar together. Look elsewhere for the widest panel choice.

Best for Commercial and Large Projects: TSP Energy

TSP Energy, formerly Solar Professionals, was founded in Wagga more than 15 years ago and has grown into an east coast business with offices in Wagga, Sydney and Melbourne. It is listed in our directory as Solar Professionals. Its work spans residential, commercial, government, ground-mount and carport systems, power purchase agreements and a panel recycling division.

Pros

  • Commercial depth: C&I batteries, ground mounts, carports, microgrids and PPAs
  • Says it is a New Energy Tech Approved Seller
  • One reviewer noted it was the only company to physically measure the roof before quoting
  • Local panel recycling arm for end-of-life systems

Cons

  • The lowest ratings in this review: 4.6 from roughly 20 Google reviews and 4.5 from 11 SolarQuotes reviews as of October 2026, with complaints about bookings made without notice and an installation that did not match the customer’s request
  • Its website now leads with commercial, government and PPA work, so confirm residential jobs get senior attention

Get a quote via TSP Energy, or browse all Wagga Wagga installers in our directory.

Key facts. 60 Chaston Street, Wagga Wagga. Founded 15+ years ago. Offices in Wagga, Sydney and Melbourne.

Why we selected them. For farms, councils and businesses, it is the Wagga company with the broadest commercial offering.

Products and brands. SolarQuotes lists Trina, SunPower and Astronergy panels and Enphase, Fronius and SMA inverters. SMA has left the Australian home inverter market, so ask what replaces it in a residential quote.

Installation quality and reputation. Reviews praise thorough site measurement. Complaints centre on scheduling and listening.

Pricing and value. Quote-based; PPAs available for commercial clients.

Warranty and after-sales. Workmanship warranty included but period not published.

What customers say. Praise for responsiveness early in the process; criticism of coordination later.

How we reviewed

We built a long list from Google Maps searches around Wagga Wagga, Google results, SolarQuotes and our installer directory. We kept companies with a Wagga base and a meaningful review record, and checked each website to confirm local installation. Regional companies that service Wagga from Young, Albury or Wodonga were excluded because we could not confirm a Wagga office or crew.

We compared reputation and experience, equipment quality, installation model, pricing transparency, warranty terms, customer service and after-sales patterns. Ratings come from Google Maps and SolarQuotes as of October 2026, rounded. We did not request quotes, contact companies or accept payment for placement, and there is no scoring formula behind the order.

Choosing a solar company in Wagga Wagga

Check accreditation yourself. Installer accreditation moved from the Clean Energy Council to Solar Accreditation Australia in 2024. Retailers should be New Energy Tech Approved Sellers. Check both registers rather than relying on logos.

Understand NSW battery incentives as they stand. The NSW upfront battery installation discount was suspended from 1 July 2025 when the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program began. NSW still pays a separate incentive for connecting a 2 to 50 kWh battery to a virtual power plant, which can be combined with the federal discount of around 30 per cent. See our battery rebate guide.

Know your network. Wagga sits on the Essential Energy network. Your installer must get connection approval and design within its export rules, so ask which export limit your quote assumes.

STCs apply to every quote. The federal STC discount comes off the price automatically and shrinks each year until 2030 (see our STC guide).

Consider the NSW zero-interest loan. NSW has no panel rebate, but the Home Energy Saver program offers owners with household income up to $210,000 a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000, repayable over up to 10 years, for upgrades including solar and batteries. Discounts of up to $4,000 for lower-income households are due to open.

Design for heat. Wagga summers regularly push panel temperatures high. Ask about temperature coefficients and inverter placement out of direct afternoon sun.

Ask who installs. All six companies here say or appear to use their own electricians. Confirm it in writing, along with who holds the workmanship warranty.

Get three quotes. Use our quote comparison guide and installer checklist, and see the NSW top 10 and NSW directory listings.

FAQ

How much does solar cost in Wagga Wagga in 2026? Local reviews describe 8 to 10kW systems at roughly $8,000 to $10,000 after STCs, and SolarQuotes lists 6.6kW price ranges from installers serving Wagga of roughly $5,000 to $13,000. Batteries add several thousand dollars after the federal discount.

How many quotes should I get? Three, compared on panel, inverter, battery, warranty and export limit.

Which warranties matter most? Workmanship, because it covers the installation itself. Brent Hawe publishes 5 years; SolarWise offers REC ProTrust labour cover on REC systems. Most others do not publish a period.

Are cheap installers safe? Not always. Very low quotes often come from metro volume retailers that subcontract regional jobs. Ask who installs and who you call in year five.

What happens if my installer goes out of business? Product warranties stay with the manufacturer, but workmanship cover usually ends with the company. Manufacturer-backed labour cover like REC ProTrust stays valid if the installer closes.

Should I add a battery now or later? The federal discount and the NSW VPP incentive make 2026 a strong time to buy. If you wait, ask for a battery-ready inverter.

How much deposit is normal? Ten per cent or less is common. Be wary of large upfront payments.

What are red flags in a quote? No brand or model numbers, no workmanship period, no export limit, pressure to sign today, or rebate figures that do not match NSW and federal government pages.
