Albury-Wodonga is one solar market split by a state border. The same installer can quote homes on both sides of the Murray on the same day, yet those homes sit under different state incentives, electricity networks and feed-in tariff rules. This guide is for households on either side who want to know who to call first. We reviewed seven companies with a local base: Solar Integrity, Peak Energy Group, KDEC Electrical & Solar, Watters Electrical & Solar, Next Generation Energy, Jekka Solar Solutions and Clean Energy Solutions.
This is independent desk research based on company websites, public records, accreditation information, Google and SolarQuotes review patterns and published pricing. We did not visit, call or request quotes from any company, and no company paid to be included. You will learn each company’s strengths and weaknesses, how the NSW and Victorian rules differ, and what to ask in a quote.

Best Overall: Solar Integrity
Solar Integrity is a Wodonga company that says it has completed thousands of installations since 2011. It states plainly that it does not subcontract installations, its equipment list leans premium, and it has the largest Google review base of any dedicated solar company in Albury-Wodonga.
Pros
- 4.9 stars from roughly 230 Google reviews as of October 2026, the highest review volume among local solar specialists
- Premium-leaning range: REC, Trina and Winaico panels, Fronius and SolarEdge inverters, BYD and Selectronic batteries
- Says it is a Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer
Cons
- The workmanship warranty is 5 years, shorter than the 10 years many installers now offer, which matters if a roof penetration leaks in year six
- Its mid-to-premium brand list means buyers chasing the lowest price will likely find cheaper quotes elsewhere

Pricing and value. Not published. Given the brand mix, expect mid-to-upper market quotes. Finance is offered.

What customers say. Praise for clear explanations, thorough paperwork and professional installs. No recurring complaint theme, though its SolarQuotes sample is small (5 reviews).
Best for / look elsewhere. Homeowners who value premium hardware and a long local track record. Look elsewhere if a 10-year workmanship warranty is non-negotiable for you.
Best for Customer Service: Peak Energy Group
Peak Energy Group is a young West Wodonga business whose ABN dates from March 2021, according to SolarQuotes. It has built one of the cleanest review records on the Border, and reviewers repeatedly name the owner, Justin, and his staff, which suggests a small, hands-on team.
Pros
- 5.0 stars from roughly 210 Google reviews and 5.0 from about 140 SolarQuotes reviews as of October 2026
- Modern battery range including Sigenergy, Sungrow, GoodWe and BYD, per its SolarQuotes profile
- Reviewers report quick responses to post-install questions
Cons
- Its website publishes almost nothing verifiable: no brand list, no workmanship warranty, no accreditation details, so you must collect all of it at quote stage
- Trading only since 2021, so there is no long-term record of how it handles warranty claims in year eight or nine

Cons
- SolarQuotes shows 4.5 from 24 reviews, with complaints about slow customer service, including a 13-day wait for an inspector after installation that delayed grid connection
- One reviewer reported a smart meter included in the quote that was not installed after full payment, a sign that coordination can slip in a big organisation

How we reviewed
We built a long list from Google Maps and Google searches around Albury and Wodonga, SolarQuotes and our own installer directory, kept companies with a local base and a meaningful review record, and checked each website to confirm local installation.
We compared reputation and experience, equipment quality, installation model (in-house or subcontracted), pricing transparency, warranty terms, customer service and after-sales patterns. Ratings come from Google Maps and SolarQuotes as of October 2026, rounded. Where a fact is not published, we say so. We did not request quotes, contact companies or accept payment for placement, and there is no hidden scoring system.
Choosing a solar company in Albury-Wodonga
Know which state you are in. In Wodonga, eligible owner-occupiers can claim the Solar Victoria panel rebate of up to $1,400 plus an optional interest-free loan of up to $1,400, if household income is under $150,000, the property is worth under $3 million and there has been no solar installed in the last 10 years. The retailer must be authorised under the Solar Homes Program. In Albury, there is no panel rebate, but the NSW Home Energy Saver program offers owners with household income up to $210,000 a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000, repayable over up to 10 years, for upgrades including solar and batteries. Discounts of up to $4,000 for lower-income households are due to open.
Batteries flip the other way. Solar Victoria is no longer taking applications for battery loans, so Wodonga homes get only the federal discount. In Albury, the NSW Government suspended its upfront battery installation discount from 1 July 2025 when the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program started, but NSW still offers a separate incentive for connecting a battery of 2 to 50 kWh to a virtual power plant, which can be combined with the federal discount. See our battery rebate guide.
Different networks, different approvals. Albury connects to the Essential Energy network and Wodonga to AusNet Services. Each sets its own connection and export rules, so ask your installer which export limit your design assumes.
Feed-in tariffs differ. Victoria has a regulated minimum feed-in tariff set by the Essential Services Commission. NSW has no mandatory minimum.
Check licences on both sides. An installer working across the border needs an electrical licence in each state. KDEC and Watters publish both. Ask others for theirs, and check the installer’s Solar Accreditation Australia number and the retailer’s New Energy Tech Approved Seller status yourself.
Everyone gets STCs. The federal STC discount applies in both states and reduces each year until the scheme ends in 2030 (see our STC guide).
Get three quotes. Use KDEC’s published bands as a benchmark. See our quote comparison guide, installer checklist, NSW top 10, Victorian top 10 and the NSW and Victorian directory listings.
FAQ
How much does solar cost in Albury-Wodonga in 2026? KDEC publishes $4,750 to $6,400 for a 6.6kW system after the STC discount, and $7,000 to $8,900 for 10kW. Systems described in local reviews range from under $4,000 to over $20,000 with batteries. Wodonga buyers may also be eligible for the Solar Victoria rebate.
Does it matter whether I live in Albury or Wodonga? Yes. Victoria offers a panel rebate of up to $1,400 plus a matching loan; NSW offers a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000 through Home Energy Saver and a VPP battery incentive, which Victoria does not. Your network, export rules and feed-in tariff rules also differ.
How many quotes should I get? Three, with brands, warranty periods and the export limit in writing.
Which warranties matter most? Workmanship, because it covers the installation itself. Only Solar Integrity publishes a period (5 years) locally, so ask the others in writing.
Are cheap installers safe? Not always. The cheapest quotes often come from out-of-town volume retailers that subcontract. Ask who installs and who honours the warranty.
What happens if my installer goes out of business? Product warranties stay with the manufacturer, but the workmanship warranty usually ends with the company, so longevity has value.
Should I add a battery now or later? The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program cuts roughly 30 per cent off eligible batteries, and Albury homes can add the NSW VPP incentive. If you wait, ask for a battery-ready design.
How much deposit is normal? Ten per cent or less is common. KDEC’s published terms take 40 per cent before installation, so negotiate or weigh that risk.
What are red flags in a quote? No brand names or model numbers, no workmanship period, no export limit, pressure to sign today, or incentive figures that do not match official government pages.
