We Compared 8 Solar Companies in Mandurah: These Are the Best

This guide is for homeowners in Mandurah, Halls Head, Falcon, Meadow Springs, Lakelands and the wider Peel who want solar panels or a battery and need a shortlist they can trust. We compared eight companies that install here: JFK Energy, Homewise Solar, NIXON Mandurah, Green Sun Solutions, SPB Energy Solutions, iBreeze, Perth Solar Warehouse and Solahart Mandurah.

Each was judged on local presence, reviews, equipment, warranties and installation model. This is independent desk research based on company websites, public review data, accreditation statements, WA Government scheme pages and published pricing. We did not visit any company, ask for quotes or speak to staff, and no company paid for inclusion.

You will finish knowing who to call first, each company’s weak spots, and how WA’s buyback rates and battery rebate change the maths.

Best Overall: JFK Energy

JFK Energy (formerly JFK Electrical, Solar & Air) is the strongest all-round pick for Mandurah. It is a locally owned family business with its main office on Kulin Way in Mandurah and a second office in Bibra Lake, and holds 4.9 stars from roughly 276 Google reviews as of October 2026. It describes itself as Western Australia’s first Sigenergy Platinum Installer.

Pros

  • Mandurah office, so warranty callouts do not depend on a Perth crew driving down
  • Strong Google record for a company of its size
  • Deep Sigenergy SigenStor experience, useful for solar, battery and EV charging in one system

Cons

  • No workmanship warranty length published, which makes like-for-like comparison harder
  • Its website does not name panel brands, and it leans heavily on one battery brand, so you will see less choice in a quote
  • Splits attention between residential, commercial, air conditioning and electrical divisions, so ask who designs your system

Praise and complaints. Praise for speed and tidy work. We found no recurring complaint theme.

Best for / look elsewhere. Best for households adding a battery or planning an EV. Look elsewhere if you want to compare several battery brands in one quote.

Best for Customer Service: Homewise Solar

Homewise Solar is a Madora Bay company led by Steve Gunton, with 5.0 stars from about 89 Google reviews as of October 2026. • NIXON says it uses no third-party contractors and employs over 75 staff across its branches

Cons

  • Most of those reviews were earned as Dodds and mainly for electrical and air conditioning work, not solar under the NIXON name
  • NIXON’s website has no dedicated Mandurah solar page yet, so local solar details are thin
  • The budget tier’s Growatt inverter has a weaker Australian support record than Fronius or Sungrow

Others Worth a Quote

Koala Solar is listed on SolarQuotes as servicing Mandurah (about 4.96 from 86 reviews there), and Canning Vale’s Regen Power has 4.9 stars from about 1,577 Google reviews; confirm it covers your suburb. Both are reasonable third quotes from Perth. Our Perth installers guide covers more.

How We Reviewed

We shortlisted from Google Maps, Google search, SolarQuotes, community recommendations and our own directory, then confirmed from each website that the company installs in the Peel. We weighed reputation and experience, equipment quality, installation model, pricing signals, warranty, customer service, review patterns and after-sales support. Sources were checked in October 2026. We did not request quotes, contact companies or inspect installations, and no company paid for placement.

Choosing a Solar Company in Mandurah

Verify accreditation. Since 2024, installers are accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA), not the Clean Energy Council. Search the SAA register for your installer and the Clean Energy Council approved retailer list for the seller. Our installer checklist has more.

Design around DEBS. Mandurah is on Western Power’s network, and Synergy pays for exports under the Distributed Energy Buyback Scheme. The WA Government lists 10c per kWh from 3pm to 9pm and 2c otherwise, capped at 50kWh a day, for systems of 500W to 5kW generating capacity. Ask installers to model self-consumption and west-facing panels, not just system size.

Bigger systems are now allowed. From 1 May 2026, Energy Policy WA lets standard connections run up to 30kVA of inverter capacity. Every new or upgraded system must either support remote disconnection by your retailer or be export limited to 1.5kW. Ask Synergy how DEBS treats a system above 5kW before upsizing.

Battery rebate rules. The WA Residential Battery Scheme (for batteries installed from 1 July 2025) gives Synergy customers up to $1,300, with up to 10kWh of usable capacity counted and a 5kWh minimum. You must join a virtual power plant for two years, and only an approved vendor can claim it. Households under $210,000 income can also borrow $2,001 to $10,000 interest free. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program sits on top (our guide), and its discount steps down over time.

In-house crews. NIXON and Green Sun say they never subcontract. Ask everyone else who installs.

Coastal and canal homes. Waterfront homes face salt air, so ask about corrosion ratings.

Compare properly. Three quotes, identical components, using our quote comparison guide. See also the Western Australia top installers page and WA directory listings.

FAQ

How much does solar cost in Mandurah? SolarQuotes reported an average of about $5,514 for a 6.6kW system in the year to October 2026, after the STC discount (how STCs work). Premium brands and batteries cost more.

How many quotes should I get? Three: one Mandurah-based, one Perth company that services the Peel, and one specialist if relevant.

Should I get a battery now? The WA and federal rebates make batteries cheaper than before July 2025, but you commit to two years in a virtual power plant and need solid evening use to get payback. Get quotes with and without a battery.

Which warranties matter most? Workmanship first (10 years is the benchmark; Homewise publishes it), then the inverter, then the panels.

What if my installer goes out of business? Manufacturer warranties survive if the brand has an Australian office. The installer’s workmanship warranty usually does not, so years in business and local presence matter.

How do I check a company is legitimate? Check the WA electrical contractor licence with Building and Energy, the SAA register and the approved retailer list, and read reviews older than 12 months.

What are red flags in a Mandurah quote? No named models, payback claims that ignore 2c daytime exports, no mention of the May 2026 inverter rules, pressure to sign today, or a large deposit before installation.
