The 6 Best Solar Installers in Mildura for 2026

Mildura gets more sun than almost anywhere else in Victoria, but its solar market is small and its grid is not simple. This guide is for Mildura, Irymple, Red Cliffs, Merbein and wider Sunraysia households (including Buronga and Gol Gol across the river) comparing quotes for solar panels or batteries. We reviewed six installers with a verified local base: Rooftop Solar Mildura, JAAZ Electrical, Ozora Energy, Mildura Solar, No.1 Solar and Cetinich Electrical and Solar. This is independent desk research using company websites, Google and SolarQuotes review data, Powercor and Solar Victoria pages and published information. We did not contact these companies, request quotes or accept payment for inclusion. Mildura only supports a handful of established local solar businesses, so this list is shorter than our capital city guides, and several entries have thin public review records. By the end you will know who to call first, where each falls short, and what Powercor’s export rules mean for your quote. For the statewide picture, see our Victoria top 10.

How we reviewed

We started with Google Maps results for solar installers and solar companies around Mildura, then cross-checked SolarQuotes listings and Google search results for Mildura and Sunraysia. We removed battery shops, auto electricians, solar farms, electricians that do not advertise solar (such as Next Electrical Solutions), and interstate firms without a Mildura base. Grayling Electrical and Larwood Electrical & Solar also offer solar locally, but we could not verify enough detail to review them.

For each company we read its own website for history, service area, brands, warranty and accreditation claims, then checked Google ratings (October 2026) and SolarQuotes profiles and review themes. We weighed reputation and experience, equipment quality, installation model, pricing, warranties, customer service and after-sales support.

We did not request quotes, contact companies or inspect installations, and no company paid for inclusion. We do not verify accreditation, so check the Clean Energy Council approved retailer list and the Solar Accreditation Australia installer register yourself.

Choosing a solar company in Mildura

Export limits and Powercor. Mildura is on Powercor’s network. Powercor says it assesses each application against local network capacity and “limits may be placed on exports”. If your pre-approval comes back with a 0kW limit, Powercor lets you choose a flexible exports connection (up to 10kW, adjusted in real time) or a fixed 0kW limit. Since October 2024, new inverters must support the CSIP-AUS standard or be set to zero export. Ask every installer to get pre-approval before you sign and to show you the approved export figure.

Why the local grid matters. The wider region has known grid limits. In 2019 and 2020 AEMO curtailed five large solar farms in the low system strength West Murray Zone, including Karadoc near Mildura, to 50 per cent output for about seven months before lifting the constraints in April 2020. That affected utility-scale farms, not households, but it is why network capacity is taken seriously here and why a battery can be worth more than export.

NSW side of the river. Buronga, Gol Gol and Wentworth are in NSW, so Victorian Solar Homes rebates do not apply there. Ask your installer which state rules and network apply to your address.

Solar Victoria rebate. Victorian households can get up to $1,400 off a solar panel system, with an optional interest-free loan of the same amount, if combined household taxable income is under $150,000 and the property is valued under $3 million. Only Solar Victoria authorised retailers can apply it.

Batteries. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program is the only battery discount in Victoria, and from 1 May 2026 it is tiered by battery size. See our battery rebate guide and battery reviews.

Heat. Mildura’s long, hot summers are good for generation but hard on inverters. Ask where the inverter will be mounted and whether it will be shaded.

Quote transparency. Named models, the STC discount and Solar Homes rebate shown separately, and the approved export limit. Use our quote comparison guide.

FAQ

How much does solar cost in Mildura? None of the six local installers publishes prices. Indicative SolarQuotes prices for a 6.6kW system from companies serving Mildura range from about $5,000 to $13,000 after STCs, depending on brands and installer. Eligible Victorians can take up to $1,400 more off with Solar Homes. See our STC rebate explainer.

Is solar worth it in Mildura with export limits? Usually yes. Mildura Rural City Council cites average solar irradiation of about 5.17 kWh per square metre per day, which it describes as among the highest in Australia, and air conditioning loads line up with solar output. If your export is limited, size the system to your own use or add a battery.

Will my system be export limited? Possibly. Powercor sets limits case by case. Your installer should apply for pre-approval and tell you the result before you pay a deposit.

How many quotes should I get? Three: a local solar specialist, a local electrician, and one with deep battery experience. Our guide to choosing a solar installer explains what to compare.

Which warranties matter most? Workmanship first, then inverter, then panel product warranty. Published terms here range from 5 years to lifetime, and three companies publish none.

Are cheap or fly-in installers safe? Some national firms quote Mildura without a local office. Check SAA accreditation, New Energy Tech approval, Solar Victoria authorisation and who will handle callouts.

Should I add a battery now or later? If Powercor gives you a low or zero export limit, a battery makes more sense now. Otherwise a battery-ready hybrid inverter lets you add storage later. See our guide to battery costs.

What are red flags in a Mildura solar quote? No pre-approval or export figure, no named models, no written workmanship term, payback figures that assume unlimited exports, and pressure to sign the same day.
