Sydney has more Tesla Powerwall installers than any other Australian city. Tesla’s own finder returned 84 results for postcode 2000 when we checked it on 11 October 2026, so the hard part is not finding one but working out which suits your suburb and your house. This guide is for Sydney homeowners comparing quotes for a Tesla Powerwall 3.
We compared PSC Energy, AG Solar, Platinum Solar Group, Solarpro, SolarBright, Smart Energy Answers, One Power Solar and Think Renewable. Each appears on Tesla’s Certified Installer finder for Sydney, and six hold Tesla’s “Premium Installer” badge. We assessed crews, warranties, battery range, pricing signals and review patterns on Google and SolarQuotes.
This is independent desk research from company websites, Tesla’s finder, review platforms, network operator pages and published pricing. We did not request quotes or contact any company, and none paid to appear. Read on for who to call first, each company’s weak spots, and how NSW incentives and network rules change a Powerwall quote.

How We Reviewed
We started with Tesla’s Certified Installer finder for postcode 2000, then matched names against Google Maps, SolarQuotes and our own directory. We favoured installers with Sydney premises, clear installation models and substantial review histories, and we spread picks across regions so most Sydneysiders have a local option.
Each company was judged on track record, equipment range, who actually does the installing, published pricing, warranty terms, and how complaints are handled after the sale. Evidence came from company websites and warranty policies, Tesla’s finder, review platforms and network operator pages. Nobody was asked for a quote, and inclusion was not paid for.
Solar Cobber does not verify or track accreditation. Before signing, look the retailer up on the Clean Energy Council approved retailer list and the installer on the Solar Accreditation Australia register.
Choosing a Powerwall Installer in Sydney
Know your network. Ausgrid covers the inner city, eastern suburbs and North Shore; Endeavour Energy covers Western Sydney, the Hills and the south-west. Endeavour says flexible exports become the default for eligible new and upgraded solar systems from November 2026, allowing up to 10 kW per phase most of the time, while opting for a fixed connection caps exports at 1.5 kW. Ask your installer how a Powerwall 3 is configured for this.
Understand the NSW incentive. NSW suspended its household battery installation discount from 1 July 2025, when the federal program began. What remains, according to NSW Climate and Energy Action, is an upfront incentive for connecting your battery to a virtual power plant, paid through participating VPP providers and scaled to the capacity you make available, up to 28 kWh. It can be combined with the federal discount. Ask each installer which VPP providers they can enrol a Powerwall with, and see our state-by-state rebate tracker for the wider picture.
Plan for western heat. Powerwall 3 can derate above 40 °C. In Penrith or Campbelltown, ask for a shaded wall.
Mind the limits. Powerwall 3 charges at 5 kW and is single-phase. Three-phase homes should read our single vs three-phase guide.
Compare alternatives. Our battery reviews cover options that suit three-phase homes better.
Use our guides. See how to compare quotes, how to choose an installer, our Sydney solar companies guide, the NSW top 10 and NSW installer listings.
FAQ
What does a Powerwall 3 cost in Sydney?
Around $15,000 to $17,000 installed before incentives in 2026. The federal discount is roughly $3,500 to $3,700 on 13.5 kWh until 31 December 2026, and joining a VPP can unlock a further NSW incentive. See our battery rebate guide and battery cost guide.
Premium or standard Certified Installer?
Premium Installers met extra Tesla criteria. A standard Certified Installer can still do excellent work; compare warranty, crews and reviews.
Should I install before 2027?
The federal factor drops on 1 January 2027, worth roughly $1,000 on a 13.5 kWh battery. Installation date counts.
Do I need to join a VPP?
Not for the federal discount, but the NSW incentive is only paid if you connect the battery to a VPP. Tesla’s own Energy Plan closed in September 2025. See what a VPP is.
How many quotes should I get?
Three, including at least one Premium and one strong standard installer.
What if my installer closes?
Tesla’s warranty survives; workmanship cover may not. Favour long-trading firms.
What deposit is reasonable?
Ten to 20 per cent. Avoid paying in full before installation.
Red flags?
No site inspection, no model numbers, or “rebate ending tomorrow” pressure.
